Our Origin Story

Liz and Danny met while doing improv and sketch comedy in Dallas and became friends and writing partners with their mutual love "Mystery Science Theater 3000," movies and the art of movie riffing. It looked like so much fun that they just decided to make their own show.

They workshopped it for a year and started doing shows at Pocket Sandwich Theatre and Stomping Ground Comedy Theatre with flicks like "Reefer Madness," “House on Haunted Hill” and "Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter” to great audiences and reviews.

The historic Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff liked the concept and gave them a real movie theater where they could do even bigger (and sometimes badder) movies like "Mac & Me," the 1990 version of “Captain America” and the first “Super Mario Bros.” movie starring Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo. They even riffed on a 4K restored cut of "Reefer Madness," which is where they met and recruited Albie who also loves “MST3k” and works as a voice actor.

They’ve also performed at the first ever IT CAME FROM TEXAS Film Festival with a riff of “The Giant Gila Monster” and are planning to riff on the holiday movie “Jack Frost” on Dec. 9 at the Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson.
